Andrés Zárrate
Raised near Bogotá, Andres studied Business Administration with a focus on service institutions, combining entrepreneurship with community leadership. Andres’ journey has been shaped not just by professional experiences, but by the support of family, the strength of friendships, and a deep curiosity about the world.
A scholarship to the Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Sports Ethics and Integrity marked a turning point -deepening his commitment to ethical research and international collaboration.
Andres’ dissertation on Sport for Development and Peace was presented at the International Olympic Academy, and he returned to Colombia to better understand how it could serve society. They’ve since contributed to a major international sporting event and a university-wide transformation project. Encouraged by mentors, they set their sights on social innovation.
Andres’ PhD explores how public sector actors can become both users and enablers of artificial intelligence, not just to improve services, but to drive social innovation.
