
Juliana Machado
Juliana (Ju) is both a dreamer and a pragmatist. That mindset gives her the freedom to reimagine possibilities and the strategic focus to turn ideas into practical change.
With an academic background in Statistics, Actuarial Science, and a Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Juliana has a strong quantitative foundation for approaching a diverse range of problems. For the past ten years, Juliana has worked on a variety of analytical and innovative projects in the public sector, always driven by the desire to help shape a better society. She is fueled by challenges and constantly looking for ways to transform complexity into meaningful impact.
Juliana's PhD research focuses on data science to deliver nature-based solutions.
Achievements
- Selected by Eurostat as one of the top six theses in Official Statistics across Europe (2025)
- Part of the winning Master’s student team at the European Big Data Hackathon (2023)
- Awarded third place in the Brazilian Public Sector Innovation Contest (2021)
- Completed the Torres del Paine trek in Patagonia
- Earned second place in a local chess tournament
