In my own words…
Notwithstanding the everywhere-discussed threats, and considering what tech for good has increasingly taught us already, I see a tremendous potential in AI and data science for common good, and a bidirectional flow between social innovation and data science that involves research in and throughout different disciplines to catch all actors.
By understanding better and from multiple perspectives how AI enables social innovation and affects its ecosystem and, likewise, how the inclusion of social innovation in the AI arena affects the latter's development, we will be all set for an ethical and sustainable path to solve the world's most pressing problems, using emerging tech for social innovation.
Simply, my vision for Datavysts and its legacy is having a large stake in a future where we, as humans, build on AI and data science to change social practices while being self-efficacious about staying within ethical boundaries.
